I’ve been working on loading my vacation photos, but I have a lot, and my phone is slooowww right now, so today, just for fun, I thought I’d just share some sourdough loaf photos that I already had in my blog’s media file. I have a lot of fun with sourdough and trying new shapes and designs has been a bit of a new hobby for me the past year. I feel as though I am using my art degree and feeding my family at the same time, ha!
The above loaf can either be seen as Christmas trees or leaves–you decide!
Below is a regular sourdough loaf with cherries, honey goat cheese, and dark chocolate folded in. This is a delicious breakfast loaf!
I’ve also enjoyed making seasonal loaves for different holidays. I’m currently working on a new Christmas design, so I’ll be sure and share that in December.
I think one of the big reasons I love sourdough so much is because I get to use tools! I’ve always enjoyed crafting with tools and here are a few I use for the scoring.
This has me thinking that maybe I’ll do another post soon with some detailed instructions from start to finish on feeding the starter, mixing the dough, shaping, scoring, and baking. Any interest?

Wow, those are beautiful. You are very talented. I would definitely love to know how you do this.
We so enjoyed seeing you all recently.

Hey, Heidi!! Oh my, we enjoyed seeing y’all too and are looking forward to another future visit! It was so much fun to catch up over dinner with each of you. 🥰 Alrighty, I’ll do a “how-to” post then. Thanks!
Cindy
Yes! :).
I would love for you to do a detailed blog on sourdough!
Your loaves are so pretty!! 🙂

Hi, Cindy! Thank you SO much! I’m no expert but I think what I can offer is a more relaxed, “home cook” version for the those of us who just want to make simple yet pretty sourdough without it getting too fussy and complicated! 🍞💕
