I didn’t get my Saturday post done on time this weekend and here it is Sunday night now with me trying to decide if it’s ok to post my “Snapshot Saturday” on a Monday, haha. Kind of reminds me of a cute I Love Lucy episode called “The Club Election” about Lucy and Ethel’s Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League and it starts with this little conversation between Ricky and Ethel.
Ricky: “Anything special on your mind?”
Ethel: “Yeah. I came up to tell Lucy that the Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League is meeting on Friday this week.”
Ricky: “The Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League is meeting on Friday.”
Ethel: “Yeah.”
Ricky: “I thought you always met on Thursday.”
Ethel: “Oh, no. We never met on Thursday. We usually meet on Tuesday.”
Ricky: “Well, look, this is probably a very stupid question, but why couldn’t the Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League meet on Wednesday?”
Ethel: “Oh, we tried it, but nobody could make it. Wednesday afternoon isn’t a good day for club meetings.”
So hilarious! And so here you have it—my Snapshot Saturday on Monday!
And speaking of I Love Lucy, here’s another hilarious episode that is a favorite of ours which we just watched last week called “The Golf Game”. Have you seen it? Oh, it’ll get you laughing so hard! Lucy and Ethel want to take up golf so they can spend more time with their husbands. Ricky and Fred aren’t too enthused about the girls playing with them, so they try to make the sport as difficult as possible, making up all kinds of crazy impossible rules. If you haven’t seen it, be sure and check it out! In the frame above, you see Ricky teaching Lucy how to hold a golf club in the most awkward way possible. So funny!

Spring Soccer
In other family news, spring soccer is in full swing! It’s our daughter’s senior year so we are soaking up this last soccer season with her! We enjoy seeing the other families and cheering our girls on together. We’ve had the most gorgeous spring weather here in Alabama with warm sunshiny days and mild breezy evenings, and it feels so good to be outside for the games. This weekend’s game was in Huntsville (above) where my sister lives, so we got to see her, her husband, and my nephews and their wives. So much fun!

A Special Night Out
My husband and I were table hosts at a benefit dinner for our adoption agency and it’s always a privilege to participate in their events and support this ministry of caring for mothers in need, their children, and foster and adoptive families.

Crazy Pets
We were all in the den one evening and heard some commotion and crashing coming from the laundry room. As I walked down the hall to check it out, everything suddenly got quiet. I turned on the laundry room light to find these two crazy cats (above) staring at me with faces that said, “It wasn’t me!” Umm, then why is one of you in the dryer and one on top of the dryer?
Pumpkin has always been the mama to Floyd but lately Floyd is being really sweet towards Pumpkin. Unfortunately, his sweet care does not extend towards Liberty who wants so badly to win Floyd’s affections. Floyd’s not having it though.
But Liberty gets to go on walks with me each morning so she’s pretty happy about that.
Again, I have no photos to share of Barney. He’s the goofiest nut until the camera comes out and then he hides his face.

Date Night
My husband and I got to slip away for our favorite sushi and a little shopping at Academy one night. Even though our kiddos no longer require a babysitter, which makes date nights a lot easier these days, our busy schedules require some work to carve out time together. But we always enjoy our evenings out together and it’s well worth the effort. We like to order several types of sushi to share.

Hello, March!
I’m soooo excited it’s March! When I was growing up, I couldn’t wait for this lovely month because it meant spring weather, spring break, and my birthday. Still to this day, when I buy a new calendar at the beginning of the year, I have to first flip to March to see what the picture is because I’ve always felt like March is my month.
And a new month means a new “subscription box” sent to my girl in Texas! She loves St. Patrick’s Day, so I filled this month’s box with a little luck of the Irish. And I sometimes include a little makeup or “self-care” of some kind. This month I threw in a mascara from Lemongrass Spa. Have you heard of them? It’s an all-natural makeup company that I’ve been trying out for the last 6 moths or so and I’m hooked! I’d been researching natural makeups due to some sensitivities I’d been experiencing with other brands and was very intrigued with Lemongrass. Come to find out, my friend Holley had just started working with this company! I should probably do a whole post on this makeup soon. It’s been a game changer for sure.
Alright friends, that’s a quick catch-up on life lately. Thanks for rolling with my schedule switcheroo and letting me post my Saturday on Monday!
H
Alinda, will you let me know where you find the lemongrass makeup? One of my daughters has a rather severe allergy to artificial dyes in foods and skin care products as well. So this could be really good for her.
Alinda
Yes! My friend Holley helps me with my orders and she’s always sweet to answer my questions. You can click on her name in the post and it will take you to her link. I will also email you her number. The makeup is a little pricey but no more than what you get at a makeup counter and some things are cheaper. But it’s been so worth it for my girls and me. We were each struggling with different issues caused by chemicals and we are all very happy with the benefits and changes we’re seeing in our skin (acne) and other things such as headaches, watering eyes, etc.

You better watch the laundry room antics! There’s a family story about kitties and dryers you know! HA! All ended well though!! 😉
Alinda
Yes! And I’ve warned Pumpkin over and over about that story because she loves getting in the dryer! I’ve had to start checking the dryer before I leave the house now to make sure she hasn’t crawled in. Like you always said, there’s a reason cats have 9 lives! =^..^=

“Some” push those 9 lives to the limit and live on borrowed time! 🐈⬛🐈
Alinda
That’s the truth!
