The Ways of Her Home

Embracing the homeward call

Snapshot Saturday: Odds and Ends

August 24, 2024

Hello there! It’s Saturday so I have some snapshots from the week, just odds and ends really.

Summer evenings will be coming to an end in a few more weeks but the summer garden already came to an end last Saturday when I pulled up everything except my herb bed and tea bed. It was such a mess! Next week I’ll post a summer garden recap.

While I worked in the garden, the guys worked on a different project. Earlier in the summer, my son and his friends built a raft to ride down the widest and deepest part of the creek which only worked for about an hour, but they were so excited. The experience inspired the idea to build a small boat which the guys have been working on the last few weekends.

My son had an orthodontist appointment this week which is always followed by the treat of ice cream to sooth the mouth soreness after being worked on. Going to get ice cream after an orthodontist appointment has been a tradition with all of my kids.

While in town I stopped at TJ Maxx and made my first fall purchase of the year. I don’t need any new fall decorations, but my daughter and I enjoy puzzles, and we needed a good fall one this year. I also got a new cross body bag which I thought was so cute.

My son likes for the cats to be nearby while he’s doing school and will do anything necessary to provide for their utmost comfort.

It’s pretty ridiculous how spoiled our pets are.

I keep lots of frozen fruit in the freezer for smoothies and we’re loving this cherry berry blend from Aldi.

We ended our school week making potato islands for lab to go with our lesson on topographic maps. This was so interesting!

Hope you all have a fun Saturday planned. Today my daughter and I are going to paint her bedroom!

Such cute finds from TJ Max! Also, we’ve been wondering what project is going on in the driveway 😜

LOL, I’m sure you’re not the only neighbor wondering about that! 🤣 We seem to always have some kind of project going on around here, except mine are usually in the house or backyard so I don’t keeping the neighbors in suspense. Ha!
