This has been a busy but beautiful autumn week!
Morning Walks
I’ve switched my morning walk from early in the morning to after breakfast so the kids and I (and dogs) can get some exercise together. The weather has been so nice.

Fall Camping Trip
We camped last weekend as I shared in this post last week! Such fun fall memories. We always come back saying need to camp more throughout the fall.

Soccer Saturdays
We love those fall mornings at the soccer field! Usually, our fall games are still warm, but we’ve had some chilly mornings on the field the last few weeks and we’re loving it.

Two Year Olds are Funny!
I’ve been teaching the 2-yr old class at church during October and they are just so precious! Last week’s Bible story was about Jesus feeding the 5,000 with 2 fish and 5 loaves. So, over and over throughout the morning I reminded the children, “Jesus fed the people with just 2 fish and 5 loaves…….2 fish and 5 loaves…..2 fish and 5 loaves.” Towards the end of class I asked them, “What did Jesus feed all the people?” One little guy very enthusiastically replied, “Animal Cwackerws!” So cute!

Cozy Mornings
Our morning lows dipped down to the 30s this week! I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to the cold, so my super sweet husband always makes sure the gas tank is full before the first cold morning in fall so I can have a fire to start my day.

Pumpkin Spice Chai
My tea of choice lately has been this Pumpkin Spice Chai by Tazo. It’s soooo good! I add some honey and cream and sip it down slowly for an afternoon treat.

Beta Club
My daughter was inducted into an honor society this week after being nominated by her Research Writing teacher! They also volunteered at a “Bark in the Park” event and attended college night. Senior year is always busy!

BINGO!
My son and I are calling BINGO the 3rd Wednesday of each month at an assisted living facility and it’s so much fun! My kids and I used to play BINGO with our adopted grandmother for many years, so I figured I was qualified for this gig but let me tell you, I learned quickly that BINGO here is serious business, and I admit I was a little terrified over my first BINGO calling, but they were all so sweet and pretty patient with me (except for that one lady 😉).

Cotton Harvest
The cotton has been harvested all around us the last couple of weeks and it’s so much fun to see as we drive by! We even got to take a field trip to a cotton gin yesterday to see it processed after being picked. Fascinating! The kids learned all about how cotton grows, what it’s used for, how it’s processed, and what the seed and debris that are removed are used for.
Above is a cotton field near us. My kids have always called it “Alabama snow” because cotton season is the only time you’ll see these fields white.

Backyard History!
I looked out my window one afternoon to see a battle going on in my very backyard! My son and several boys from the neighborhood were reenacting the Revolutionary War with the Redcoats at the top of the hill (they even wore their red shirts!) and the Patriots down in the woods. I love that that they can have so much fun living out their history lessons. The dogs enjoyed the show too, lol!
I hope you enjoyed these snapshots from our week! October is zooming by, and I want to remember every minute despite the busyness. Every day is a gift from God.
sewprissymissy
So good to catch up on what you’re doing. I miss you!
Alinda
I miss you too, Missy!! Hope we can get together for tea and shopping soon!
Holley Collier
I enjoyed all of this blog post, but I have to admit, the Bingo portion made me chuckle! (That one lady.) Ha!
Alinda
Lol, I’m glad you enjoyed that, Holley! She was cute but she certainly kept me in line. 😄
