Hello, Saturday friends! I have several snapshots from our week. It was busy with work but also some nice little breaks and visits here and there.
Kitten on the Keys
We are having so much fun with our little animals. Floyd the kitty is just so funny! He zooms all around like a ping pong ball all over the house. I was in the kitchen one day and heard a plink-plink coming from the piano. I turned to see Floyd was tiptoeing across the piano keys, so I grabbed my phone and snapped a photo. What a cutie.

Tea with Friends
My tea ladies met for lunch which is always a treat! We enjoyed a full lunch from scones to finger sandwiches to mini desserts. My tea blend of choice this time was a summery Peach Apricot, and it was so delicious. As always, it was so good to catch up with everyone.

Steamy Mountain Ridge
I love summer thunderstorms and we got some nice ones this week. I was driving through my neighborhood after the rain one morning and noticed the steam rising off the ridge which I found to make such a pretty view.

Mama Gets a Refresh!
Ugh, taking pictures of myself feels extremely awkward and posting them is even more so! But this mama got a long overdue haircut and it’s such a relief! My hair was getting so stringy and sticking to my neck on these hot days. I asked my hairdresser to take a chunk off which she did, but then when she asked if it was short enough, I said, “Keep going!” I’m loving the shorter length! I also bought this new blouse with summery golden yellow flowers (TJ Maxx), and it makes me so happy. I have a bad habit of having one great blouse each season that I love and wear over and over. My friends are probably going to get tired of seeing this one!

Breakfast on the Patio
We hit a new milestone with Barney Boy this week! We have not been able to keep our chair cushions on the patio furniture because Barney was chewing and destroying them. So, we’ve stored them in an outdoor cabinet and only take them out right before company comes and put them away as soon as the company leaves. I’d been telling Joel how much I missed being able to just sit outside with my morning coffee and yogurt without having to go dig out a chair cushion and set things up first. Well, I gave it a try one day to see if maybe he’d grown out of his naughty ways and that good doggie has left the cushions alone ALL week! Woohoo! I was able to slip outside one morning and enjoy breakfast on the patio with my view of the woods. Now maybe I can put my potted plants back on the tables. Well, that might be pushing it!

Lunch and a Visit
My mother-in-law prepared a delicious lunch for us at her house! Joel was able to come join us on his lunch break, and we all had such a nice visit. She made the tastiest pork tenderloin, veggies, and fruit! And the table was so pretty with bright summer colors.

Roarrrrrr!
After having lunch with my MIL, my husband went back to work and the kids and I went to visit my dad (my mom was out of town). We took the new puppy to meet him. When we left, his cat, Chester, came over to see us. I took a picture right as he was yawning, and my daughter laughed and said it looked like he was roaring.

The Girl Can Cook!
My older daughter is loving married life and her new home. She is a great cook and sends us photos of the meals she’s made for her hubby. Doesn’t your mouth just water looking at that juicy chicken with the crispy skin and veggies! One night he took a bite of cobbler she’d made and said, “Oh wow, I’m so blessed to have a wife who loves to cook!”

Puppy Mama
My younger daughter is a good little puppy mama! She’s doing such a wonderful job taking care of the Liberty–feeding her, taking her out, playing with her, and getting up with her during the night. She gets up once during the night but we’re seeing signs that she’ll be sleeping all night very soon. I told my daughter she is getting a taste of what it’s like to get up with a newborn baby and that she should “nap when the baby naps”. Y’all, this puppy is the sweetest thing ever! We are all having so much fun with her.

Kitchen Helper
I called my son into the kitchen one evening as I was finishing dinner to tell him to set the table. For all the years my kids have been growing up, they have been my kitchen helpers with food prep, table setting, and cleanup. If they’re setting the table, I might go ahead and pull the dishes, utensils, napkins, and glasses I want them to use. But sometimes it’s a “you choose” night and I let them do whatever creative idea have for the table. This particular evening, I told my son to use whatever he wanted. To my surprise (and delight) he chose the red dishes and red checked napkins and then asked to see my table runners–cute. I took him to my butler’s closet, and he chose a patriotic one. When he finished, I praised his work but pointed out that he’d missed the forks. He said, “Oh no, Mom. I wrapped the fork in the napkin for a change.”

Pumpkin Progress
This week the pumpkin plants really sprang up! At this point the vines will spread quickly and before we know it, it’ll be fall and we’ll have pumpkins!

Summer Sunset
Since I usually show you photos of sunrises, I thought I would close this post with a sunset for a change. Some evenings when the sun is setting it creates an orange-pinky glow that streams into our windows like it’s calling me out to enjoy it. So I go!
I hope you had a lovely week! Thank you for stopping by!
Bonnie
I enjoy all your blogs. It keeps me in touch with what’s going on with all of you. I love Floyd playing the piano. Does he just have lessons once a week?

Thank you, Bonnie, for following our blog so faithfully and for that delicious lunch! 😋 As for Floyd, his attention span definitely wouldn’t last long enough for piano lessons! Remember he’s a ping-pong kitty! 😄😂
