Good morning, friends. Isn’t this little chapel just lovely? It’s the Ida Cason Callaway Memorial Chapel in the beautiful Callaway Gardens of Pine Mountain, Georgia. Living in somewhat close proximity to the gardens has allowed me to visit many times through the years. This sweet chapel is nestled inside the woods along a quiet trail of trickling creeks, rustling pines, and fragrant blossoms. Approaching the chapel and entering its wooden doors, gives one the most peaceful feeling, and I’ve always thought that if I lived in these woods, I would walk to the chapel every day for prayer.
Although I don’t have my own little prayer chapel in the woods, I do have my own quiet place to pray each day. I start my day in the peaceful corner of my bedroom lifting up praise, thanks, confession, and requests before my Father. This time with the Lord makes me feel as though I’m sitting right in the chapel of that tranquil garden. It reminds me of one of my favorite hymns “My God and I”.
So I’m popping in here today with a couple of prayer requests. My mother is having her second retina surgery this morning and will be recovering for the next several weeks. Also, my friend, Lisa, unexpectedly lost her sister-in-law last week, and the funeral was yesterday. It’s a very sad time for their family. In your prayer time today, would you please lift up my mom and my friend? And it if you have any prayer requests that I can be praying about, please leave them in the comments (or message me privately), and I’d be honored to pray for you as well. Thank you and God bless!

Praying for your sweet and precious mom this morning! And lifting up our dear friend Lisa as well! Thankful to have prayerful friends like you! ❤️
Alinda
Thank you so much, Rivers! I know my mom and Lisa appreciate the prayers. It’s one of the best gifts we can give, for sure. Thankful to be among a great group of prayer warrior women like yourself!

My family ( husband had heart attack/stent last March, daughter pregnant with 2 nd baby June, other daughter(also her job) and her husband in a rough marriage, grandsons who bring so much joy and me who seems like I’m so helpless. Amen
Alinda
Oh, Marilyn, I’m so sorry. So many heavy burdens at one time. I’ll be praying for each family member you listed (they are going in my prayer journal to start praying now!), and will also be asking Jesus to to give you the rest He promises in Matthew 11:28-30 when we give Him our burdens. In a way, we are helpless, but God is not and He will yoke us to Himself and His strength. Thank you so much for commenting today. It’s an honor to pray for you!
Alinda
And I will also be thanking God for those precious grandsons who are bringing you joy during this season of trials. Little ones have a sweet way of doing that, don’t they!

Alinda, I will certainly be praying for your mom this morning! We are familiar with retina surgery and its delicacy. Praying for guidance for the surgeon’s hands, peace for your mom and a full recovery! I will also be praying for comfort for those touched by the loss of this sister-in-law. I pray God’s Word will be the balm their hearts need. Psalm 119:28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.
The picture of the beautiful chapel reminds me of the one at The Cove in Asheville. Aren’t we blessed to enter into God’s presence anywhere?!
Praying with you.
Alinda
Thank you, Denise! I love the verse! We are currently studying Psalm 119 in our small group, so it’s really special that you quoted verse 28. 🙏🏻
I have only seen pictures of the chapel at The Cove but have never visited. It looks beautiful! Maybe on my next trip to Asheville I’ll make it by there!
