“The Next Chapter” Graduation Sunset Tea

Hello again! Yesterday I shared some photos from a graduation luncheon my friend Kelli hosted for our daughters with our life group mothers and daughters. It was a lemon theme to mark the girls’ “fresh start” for the college years! You can read about it here. “A Lemony Fresh Start” Graduation Luncheon

When my younger daughter was four years old, I taught her Bible class at church. She was a quiet little thing who stayed in her own quiet corner, and I had been praying God would send her a sweet friend for her very own. Then one Sunday morning, another tiny little girl with long brown curls and red glasses wearing a smocked dress entered our classroom and our hearts. Her family was visiting that morning and so I introduced her to the class and sat her beside my own little girl. The rest is history! Spring 2023

Good morning! Before I get too far into summer, I need to record our spring season. Today I'm going to quickly run through some spring highlights and then the rest of the week I'll go back and detail some of my daughter's graduation stuff a little more. I'll go ahead and apologize for the length of this post. It's a big one! In early March my daughter and I took a girls' trip out to Texas to visit my married daughter and son-in-law. We had such a fun visit, and they took us to Homestead Heritage, a self-sufficient Christian community which is also open to the public. It was amazing! Fluff the Nest Friday: Brighten Your Home with Fresh Flowers!

Good morning, friends! Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it! We've had a high school graduation, a big trip out west, a family wedding, our Texas daughter and SIL visiting, several gatherings to host, and another surgery for my younger daughter. I'm so eager to get back to blogging and I have a zillion ideas for posts, yet when I sat down earlier this week to click away on the keyboard, I suddenly felt stuck. We Went West!

Good morning, friends! I've been MIA here lately and for good reason. We've been wrapped up first with my daughter's high school graduation and then left for a 2-week road trip out west!! We had a blast, and I can't wait to document it all here with photos and stories. But for now, I'll be spending the next couple of days baking a wedding cake for my nephew's wedding. For My Friends Who Aren’t Moms

Happy Saturday, friends! I'd like to say a little something today to my dear friends who aren't mothers. I am blessed to have several friends who aren't married and don't have children. I say I'm blessed because friendship with these ladies has so much to offer such as their time and their perspective. I was having a lovely tea lunch with two such friends a little over a year ago. You’re a Gooood Mama!

I was a new mama to a sweet baby girl and wanted to be the very best mommy I could be. I wasn't ever looking for compliments, just maybe a little encouragement. I remember walking into church one evening with a blanket wrapped around my baby when an approaching woman wearing a concerned expression commented, "Honey, you've got that baby too warm in that blanket!" I slid the blanket off my little one, tucked it into the diaper bag, and walked into the auditorium. As I was making my way to a pew, I started to pass another lady, this one displaying a warm smile. Happy Monday!

Good Monday morning, friends! I've been a little MIA lately, but all is well. Between homeschooling, a senior year, soccer season, field trips, a car in the shop for 3 weeks, and an unexpected surgery for my daughter....well, I've had a lot going on and my family always comes first for me, so blogging has been pushed to the back burner the last month.
