Happy Independence Day from Lady Liberty! Well, not that Lady Liberty……
….this Lady Liberty!
Isn’t she cute! My daughter got her exactly two years ago this week, the day before the 4th of July, so she named her Liberty. For the last several weeks she’s been away at “good girl school” (the dog, not my daughter, haha) and we are so happy she’s finally home! She came home so grown up and nicely disciplined, my daughter and I decided she deserves the title of Lady.
My son helped me get the front porch cleaned up and a few patriotic touches added. I wasn’t going to put out the fanned buntings this year because they’re getting old. My son was disappointed and said it would look better to use them, so we hung them and I’ve got to admit, he was right!
I added some artificial red hydrangeas to my door basket and a blue ribbon. I really like red and light blue together. It feels cheerful and summery.
I ordered a wooden patriotic plaque from Etsy and it’s such a festive addition this year. It came with a very big bow which was cute, but a little too puffy for my taste so I took it off.
Last week my daughter and I joined some of the ladies in my family for lunch and shopping for my sister’s birthday at Botanic in Auburn . We all love that place and each of us always picks out some pretty little plant to bring home and this time I was on the hunt for a red geranium. Red geraniums just say summertime to me, and I love to have one on my front porch in July.
But the most welcoming part of this porch redo is this little doggy with all her sunny deposition and ladylike charm. With her special training, Liberty will now be able to spread that charm around preschools, senior living facilities, and special events.
I hope you all enjoy a relaxing, summertime-on-the-front-porch kind of Independence Day! We are so blessed to live in a free country, and even more blessed to live in the freedom of Christ!

Liberty is so cute! I’m glad she is trained but she still has the crazy look in her eyes😂😂😂

Oh for sure, that’ll never completely be gone! 😂 It’s her “I love you, I love everyone, I’m so happy to be alive” gleam! Just more controlled now. 😅
