Yesterday was the first day of a fresh new month–Hello, August! –and my girl and I got to do something fun!
My friend, Missy over at The Woods at Whippoorhill, and I have been trying to plan a day just to sit down and discuss a couple of new projects we’ll be working on together this year, so we decided we’d make a day of it and meet up in a lovely little historic downtown about 45 minutes away. Our daughters joined us too!
Our first stop was a tea and coffee room that had such a fun chic boho decor! I mean, every light fixture, table, cabinet, chair, handle, knob–you name it–were unique and lovely.
But the beverages were the showstoppers! Oh. My. We all enjoyed our selections and said we’d definitely get them again. And look at those fancy foamy leaves! I had an oil-infused latte called the Lavender Bee which had lavender oil and honey. So delish!
Something I like to do at restaurants is take a picture of the menu so if I like what I order and want to recreate it at home, I have the description. The girl who made our lattes was sweet to tell us how she made them, although I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to recreate that lovely swirly leaf on top.
We sat at a nice large table by the window and talked and talked for the longest time. Then we took a break from sitting and walked over to a fancy schmancy little consignment store that was so bright and fun. We found some beautiful clothing and great deals on name brands!
The seating was not only chic but comfy. And the sales ladies were so friendly. We’ll be going back for sure!
After our little shopping break, we walked around the block to find a place to eat lunch and settled on an Irish Pub restaurant that Missy had been to and recommended.
Look at these humorous paintings on the wall! That cat just cracks me up. Zoom in for a good chuckle.
This bookshelf caught our girls’ attention and they stopped to find some familiar titles.
And the food–Wow! We tried a few different items from the menu, but the appetizers were my favorite! Homemade potato chips smothered in blue cheese, bacon, and green onion. And Reuben egg rolls. Yes, we went a little junky but what a fun food experience!
While munching we discussed and planned out our new projects, one of which will involve you all and we’ll be sharing on our blogs soon! And if you haven’t visited Missy’s blog, be sure and give her a visit! You’ll feel right at home.

Looks like a absolutely fantastic day, and I am excited to see what you ladies are cooking up! Where are these little shops? I think I would enjoy them.
