My girls know me well, and always pick out such thoughtful gifts for me for special occasions. I’m one blessed mama!
For Mother’s Day, they went shopping together at my favorite store—Home Goods! My oldest daughter bought me the wonderful rolling cooler bag you saw in my “Savvy Finds and Summer Faves” post. It gets used weekly, and has been a total game changer for lake and pool!
Country Girl gave me this lovely tablecloth with an all-over peach pattern. It’s perfect for summer dining!
Given my love for peaches, and for my daughter, I’m very excited about this tablecloth.
I’m just loving it with my green dishes!
It’s versatility lends itself to a fancy-schmancy Sunday lunch setting, or a very casual summer supper.
So speaking of peaches, I’ve been able to get peaches and blueberries from our local farmers lately, and they are fabulous again this year! The only dilemma for me always is whether to eat them fresh, or to bake with them.
So I bought plenty for both! I’ve been eating them fresh on my morning yogurt.
But I held out enough to make Peach-Blueberry Cobbler Bars. I followed a recipe from Home is Where the Boat Is that called for blackberries, but just substituted them with my blueberries. Oh yum! So delicious!!
I made these on a Sunday to serve at a ladies’ supper the next evening, after they’d had time to cool and set up. But we couldn’t wait! We ate a serving of it warm from the oven, spooned into bowls with scoops of vanilla ice cream! Can you blame us?
There was still plenty left to cut into bars and serve to our company the next evening. I put each bar in some pretty cupcake liners. More on this ladies’ gathering soon!
So what’s your favorite summer fruit? Whatever it may be, I hope you’re enjoying a bountiful summer supply of it!
