Prayer is an 24-hour, around-the-clock practice for me. “Practice” may not even be the correct word. My relationship with my Lord means there is communication between us throughout my days as need arises—“Please Lord, intervene here.”
Or when I want to share in a moment with Him—“The sun is gorgeous today, Lord! Thank you!”
Or, in those moments in the middle of the night when worry rears it’s ugly head and I find myself awake with fret—“God, please carry us through this.”
I can’t imagine only speaking to my husband once in the morning and then being done for another 24 hours! What kind of relationship would that be?! As with my husband, my communication with God never stops.
But there is something special about morning prayers in the quiet and still of the early hours. There are less distractions and it’s more of a “coming before the throne” with my requests. I LOVE this time with my Father.
Do you have morning prayers? If so, will you please pray for my dad? He will have open heart surgery tomorrow morning in Birmingham, and our family would greatly appreciate your prayers. Thank you!!
And if you have any prayer request, I’d be honored to lift them before the Lord.
“In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly.”

I mentioned it to you on Instagram, but you can be sure I’ll be praying with you for this need for your dad. A reminder is set on my phone. “I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.”
Psalm 17:6
