The Ways of Her Home

Embracing the homeward call

Good Morning and Good Monday!

July 24, 2023

The ladies are coming tonight and that makes me so happy! I have a full list to accomplish today. I enjoy having company and I equally enjoy being productive and marking off a to-do list! I headed outside early to get my outdoor stuff done before the heat sets in for the day. I wanted to get my front porch looking freshened up, so I swept and brushed out the chairs, watered the plants, and pulled out any dead leaves.

All of my beds need weeding, but I just focused on getting this front bed freshened up for today so my guests would have a nicer entrance. No need to kill myself before company comes! I’ll work on weeding the side beds another day this week, but this was enough for today.

Three of my four lavender plants weren’t looking too good even after trying to revive them, but one has been doing great (funny, huh!) so I replaced the three with some new ones this morning. They’re smaller than the one that stayed but that’s ok. My hydrangeas were taking off at first but have slowed down a bit. They’re not dying, and they still look happy and healthy, but just not as big as I thought they’d be by now. Feel free to send me your tips!

It was such a pleasant and productive morning (it doesn’t always work out that way, haha) and now I’m sipping a little coffee before heading inside to cook and clean.

I’ll be preparing a pesto tomato tart, herb grilled chicken, and Italian salad. Plus a few little snacky sweets and fruit for dessert. I’m especially excited about the menu tonight because I get a cheat night tonight from my “no sugar, no gluten”! Woohoo! After cooking, I’ll move on to some cleaning. I accomplished much of my cleaning over the weekend so it shouldn’t be too crazy today.

I’m really looking forward to seeing my ladies tonight and the anticipation of an evening together is my motivation today!

HAPPY MONDAY!

Your front porch is ALWAYS so inviting! I must admitted I handled your lavender the other day while waiting for you to answer the door. I got to enjoy the scent on my hands all the ways home!

Oh, thank you, Missy! I’m so glad you were drawn to the lavender and that its scent lingered on your hands after you left–like a little parting gift, haha. I find it so pleasant!

Everything looks beautiful! Don’t you just love early summer mornings?! Such gifts from God … the beauty, the quiet, dew sparkling on the grass, birds, fluttering, and singing. What will heaven be like?! ❤️
