Happy Fri-YAY! This is not the post I’ve been working on for today. Last night I was too tired and achy to finish that one, yet I really wanted to put up a post this morning. So, I decided to do something fun and quick and just select 5 photos from my camera roll that I snapped this week. So here goes….
Princess Pumpercot
I definitely have more than 5 photos of Pumpercot from the week, but this is my favorite. She sticks to a certain room or spot for a few days at a time and then relocates. For the past several days she could mostly be found on my daughter’s bed, sleeping like a little kitty angel.
Cooking with my girl
I was starting dinner late Tuesday afternoon and my oldest came in the kitchen and offered to help. I was making pork tenderloin, maple sweet potatoes, and a summer salad with strawberries, goat cheese, and toasted pecans. I told her there was a bag of Brussel sprouts she could cook, and she quickly decided on a recipe her fiancé’s mother showed her how to make. She shredded the sprouts and sauteed them in butter with onion, then stirred in walnuts and dried cherries. Wow!! She made some delicious sprouts!! And we had fun in the kitchen together. I’m so thankful for these times spent together before she gets married, and it makes me look forward to the holidays when she’ll come home and get back in the kitchen with me.
The Taming of the Shrew
My middle child completed her British Literature class this week. They finished out the year with the reading of Shakespear’s The Taming of the Shrew and were assigned a project of making a mask to represent a character who changed in some significant way throughout the story. Each side of the mask had to represent the before and after of the character’s transformation. If you’ve read the play, can you guess which character she selected? Since this play has been the hot topic at our house, I found a hilarious children’s version of the play for my son to watch. Very cute.
Wedding Cake!
Or as Franz from Father of the Bride would say, “wodding cack”! Since long before she was ever engaged, my daughter has said she wants me to make her wedding cake–Italian Cream! I bought the ingredients this week and naturally I got some questions from other shoppers. The baking is currently in process and will take a few days. Please pray it’s not a flop!
Butter me not!
I went to the refrigerator for the butter only to find an empty butter dish. I took a photo thinking I’d text it to the kids and say something really corny like “I butter not find this again”. But then I realized the most likely culprit was the one who’s too young to have a phone. Heehee!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!

What a fun post! I like this idea!
Alinda
Thank you! I can’t take credit for the idea though. I see other bloggers do something like this and I always enjoy seeing a summary of their weeks in their photo selections!

What a sweet picture of your kitty! My cat does the same thing – a new location every several days. Adorable!
I will be praying for your wedding cake adventure. I’m sure it will be delicious and beautiful!
I made cupcakes for Whitney‘s wedding and Alli wanted cookies and ice cream for her reception. I did all the cookie baking, which was so much fun!
Thanks for sharing all your fun photos!
Alinda
Cats are funny in their habits, aren’t they! Thank you, Denise, for the prayers and encouragement for the cake. 💗 I love hearing that you baked for your daughters’ weddings! It’s good to know that it can be done!

I still have that bag of Brussel sprouts I tried to give you since I didn’t use them for last weekend’s house guests! I will try your new recipe! Sounds delicious!
Alinda
Lol, I over bought on Brussel sprouts since Aldi has such a good price on theirs! What she cooked the other night was our last bag (finally!) and they were sooo good the way she prepared them!
Kelli
I loved this post! Since I don’t get to see you near enough, it gave me a peep of of what has been going on with you! I loved the story behind each picture. I can’t believe (ok, I can) that you are going to make the wedding cake! That is so special. I thoroughly enjoyed your butter joke, and I have found the same thing in my refrigerator before! Miss you!
Alinda
Aww, thank you, Kelli, and I’m glad someone else can relate to the empty butter dish in the fridge! I miss you too and look forward to some summer get-togethers with you and your kiddos!
