Fluff the Nest Friday: The Norwex Mop

May 13, 2022

Happy Friday! I’m just jumping on quickly to tell you about a new cleaning tool that I recently purchased and can’t wait to share. For the last couple of years, I’ve been gradually changing out my cleaning products to cleaner, chemical-free options in an effort to improve our overall health, especially in the areas of allergies and migraine headaches. I have landed on some pretty amazing products, and I’ll be highlighting a different product each week in my FTNF posts.

Ever since my sister introduced me to the Norwex products last year, I’ve had my eye on the Norwex mop! This mop is not cheap, but it gets rave reviews, so I’ve been watching for a good sale and finally jumped at a special offer in April. After using it a bit, I’m pretty impressed and hooked!

I purchased the Superior Mop Starter System which comes with the dry mop and wet mop pads that velcro to the mop base. The dry mop attachment can be used before the wet mop to get up dust, etc. My floors are usually pretty filthy on mopping day, so I vacuum the floors first, but I do use the dry mop to clean the wood floors under the couch and it gets up every speck of dust and pet hair (I forgot to take a photo of the dry mop in use.). I’m sure I’ll use it a lot during the week for touch-ups as well since we have people and pets living here.

The wet mop attachment couldn’t be easier to use! It’s a microfiber material which takes care of dirt and germs with only water added. No need for a liquid cleaner! I just wet the pad under running water, wring it out and attach it to the mop. I take it back to the sink to rinse out every now and then which is still way easier that lugging a bucket of water and wringing out the mop. Annnnd, it’s easier on my sad old back which hates mopping over all other household chores. This is such a relief because a lot of the flooring in our house requires mopping and I have thrown my back out more than once while mopping.

It works well on both my wood floors and my tile floors and dries quickly.

And best of all, it’s kitty-approved! Pumpkin loves to watch me do housework and mopping is among her favorites. She follows me room to room until I’m finished. Sweet girl.

The only thing that this mop didn’t wipe clean this week, which is something NO mop would be able to clean, was a sticky, tar-like residue that someone tracked in on their shoes. But I used my Norwex cleaning paste with my Norwex Enviro cloth and it came right up! More on the cleaning paste and cloths in another post.

In my search for “clean” cleaning products, I have found that they are pretty expensive, yes, but the products are either reusable or go a long way and have definitely been a good investment. My headaches have been drastically reduced! Y’all, I promise I don’t sell these products (but can put you in touch with someone who does), so there’s nothing in it for me. I just want to pass on helpful products that have made the work of my hands a little bit easier.

Kelli, I think you’ll love this mop. And I failed to mention I my post that I got mine for $99 and it’s regular price is $130, so I saved $30. Right now it’s on sale for $115, but just watch for the best sales. Also, I’ve found that having a personal sales consultant really helps because she knows the items I’m interested in purchasing and let’s me know when there’s a special on that item so I don’t miss out on the best price possible. If you want the contact info of my consultant, let me know and I’ll be glad to send it!
