Around here, Friday is the day to fluff the nest, which is just a much cuter way of saying “clean the house”. Am I right? So my Friday posts are all about tidying up and getting the house fresh and in order for the weekend. Some weeks my nest-fluffing comes more easily than others. I need motivation each Friday.

Today I want to share a cleaning product that has been a game changer for me. When we bought our current home, I was so excited to get a soaking tub. My then 8-year old daughter called it the DREAM TUB! Cute. The only thing that wasn’t too dreamy about it for me was the fact that it was jetted. I wondered what grew inside the jets and how I could be sure they were clean since I couldn’t exactly stick my arm in there and scrub them out.

My sweet husband did a little research for me and discovered a product called Oh Yuk, available on Amazon. This stuff is fantastic! You just fill your tub with hot water past the jets, pour in 4 ounces of Oh Yuk, and run the jets for 15 minutes. The solution runs through the interior jet lines and back out, pulling out all the dirt, grime, and yuck.

After letting it run for 15 minutes, drain the water. There will be a brown ring of residue around the tub. See it in the background of the photo below? That’s what was in the jets! Eeww! Sometimes it’s even worse than that. Next I spray the tub with Scrubbing Bubbles and wipe all that out.

I give it a good rinse with fresh water, and it’s sparkling clean, inside and out!

Now I can enjoy my “dream tub” without wondering what’s going on inside those jets!

And while we’re talking about baths, here’s a salt bath recipe from DoTerra that I like to use in my tub when I need a good long soak. It’s great for soothing tired muscles and tired nerves. It would also make a great gift packaged in a pretty jar with a wooden scoop tied on for lady’s gift.
Lavender Epsom Bath:
Mix together 1 cup Epsom salt with 10 drops lavender oil. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the lavender salts to a tub of warm water. Enjoy!
