Fluff the Nest Friday: Norwex Laundry Detergent

July 28, 2023

Happy Friday! Today let’s talk LAUNDRY and Norwex’s Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent! So, in my quest to reducing chemicals in my nest, I’ve been using several Norwex products for the last couple of years and absolutely love them. But I’ve always passed by the laundry detergent in the catalog because it was pricey, and I wasn’t sure it would work any better than other “free and clear” brands I get from the grocery store. However, after recently watching my friend Crystal give a demo with this detergent, I was convinced enough to try it and was able to purchase it as part of a bundle.

So, I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now and I have to say that, first of all, it works better than I imagined it would and it works better than any other detergent I’ve ever used. And second of all, as my consultant Crystal explained in the demo, you use a lot less of this detergent in your wash than with other brands because other brands use fillers (corn, animal bones, etc—eww!), so while that bag may be pricey, it goes a long way! My laundry is so fresh but more than just a surfacey fresh. It’s a deep freshness. I can tell it really penetrates through the fabric to pull out dirt and odors.

And since I can’t really show you a picture of how it works inside my washer, I’ll share with you another way I used the detergent this week that I think will help demonstrate its effectiveness. I follow Norwex on Instagram and saw a suggestion for cleaning makeup brushes with the detergent. Now, I must confess, I’m terrible about cleaning my brushes as often as I should because it takes a so long to get all the makeup and grime out. So, I gave it a try with the Norwex laundry detergent, and this is how it went:

I dissolved the suggested 1 teaspoon of detergent in a jar of warm water (I’m pretty sure I can use less next time). Then I placed my dirty brushes in the water, gave them a quick swish, and left them to soak. When I came back a while later, this is what I saw! I hate to even show you this yuck water, but it really shows how much makeup was pulled out of the brushes with very little effort!

I rinsed each brush under warm running water and laid them on a towel to dry.

I came back later when they were dry and couldn’t believe how fresh and clean they were. They looked brand new! These brushes illustrate how my laundry is coming out of the wash–with deep freshness.

I will definitely be washing my makeup brushes on a regular basis now since the Norwex detergent makes it so easy! AND chemical free!

The makeup water is compelling! I’m excited to try this detergent. When I signed up the other night to host a party, I got to choose a gift bag. Mine contained the detergent! I got my enviro cloths and window cloth Saturday. I can’t stop cleaning windows. They’re pretty impressive!

Oh that’s great! I didn’t know you got the detergent. It’s good stuff. And those cloths!! It’s funny that you said you can’t stop cleaning with them because that’s exactly how my sister and I feel about them. Crazy that they make me WANT to clean so much!
