Fluff the Nest Friday: It’s Gonna Take More Than a Fluff!

January 20, 2023

Happy Friday, friends!! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted on the blog, and it’s been even longer since I’ve posted a FTNF! If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that Friday is the day the kids and I finish up our school week and then get the house cleaned and fresh for the weekend….the day we “fluff the nest”.

But today this house is going to require much more than a fluff because we got new carpet this week in each of the bedrooms! I’m soooo happy with the new carpet, however it’s created quite the upheaval since EVERYTHING had to come out of FOUR bedrooms, closets included. When we first started prepping the rooms for the carpet installers my fairytale plan was to do it all in a neat and orderly fashion, HA!! But by 10:00 on the night before the installers came, we were still working and the remaining things just had to be crammed where they could be crammed.

So, while we’ve been putting things back together, we’re taking the opportunity to clean out and make our “keep-trash-donate” piles. We still have a lot left to do today and we’d like to finish before the weekend. My son just asked if we could do before and after pics, so I thought that might be a fun way report back later today on our progress.

And now with coffee in hand we’re finishing up a few school things and then we’ll get started on putting this house back together! See you back here later today!

Oh I love this! I have just started making Friday mornings my “big vacuum day,” and it has made all the difference in making our weekends so restful! Love this idea and love your phrase as well ☺️🥰 Can’t wait to see the before and afters! They are always inspiring! And sometimes it’s nice to have those situations that “force” us into cleaning out! Sounds like you all will have a great weekend ahead after you finish! ☺️

You are so right about that, Tabitha! I told my husband this week that this new carpet is giving me the kick in the pants that I need to clean out. Enjoy your freshly vacuumed carpet this weekend!

I feel your excitement and misery!! This week was filled with the installation of all new windows. Now, we need a painter to make them match the exterior trim! On the interior, some window treatments have to be replaced!! Grateful though!!
