I’m feeling extra patriotic with my nest fluffing today! The hubs pressured washed all the concrete yesterday and then I put back the furniture, flowers, and FLAGS! With the disrespect so many have shown our country’s flag in recent years, I felt the need to go a little *extra* on the stars and stripes this year! So, we are waving it proudly with a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our America!
Now that the front porch is ready, I’m heading to the back porch to splash a little patriotism around back there!
But first, I want to acknowledge some other special birthdays today! My sister, Katie, was born the baby of us five on July 3. We kids were SO excited over her arrival! While my parents were at the hospital, we were staying with our preacher’s family. The next day was the 4th of July and they hosted a church cookout in their backyard. We siblings had so much fun telling everyone about our new baby sister. She was our 4th of July baby, followed years later by two nephews also born during the week of the 4th. So Happy Birthday to all our firecracker babies!!!

I can see Joyce smiling because you called the store the SHOP❣️
Oh the memories! Naps in the layaway room, art lessons with Alinda❣️
Alinda
Oh yes, she rubbed off on me for sure. It was the “shop”, not “store”! Made it sound more quaint, I suppose! 😄

Unique front door! Love the flags, all the flags!!
Alinda
Wait! 33!?! Happy Birthday to your firecracker!💥 Seems like just yesterday that I was teaching him art lessons after school and he was taking naps in the back room at the shop. 😁
The front door was already on the house when we first looked at it and the girls asked us to buy the house because of the little peep door. ☺️
