My house really needs it’s Friday fluff, y’all. It actually needs more than a fluff! Here’s the rundown: The cold weather has meant the pets come inside at night and I feel like I’m cleaning a barn each morning. My husband has offered to buy me a pitchfork. Additionally, we have furniture being moved around, lots of laundry piles (both dirty and clean), and 3 curtain rods throughout the house that have been mysteriously ripped out of the walls. The latter was unsuccessfully blamed on the cat by the 11-year-old boy who is now no longer allowed to ride his hover board in the house (the wheels catch the bottom of the curtains and YANK!).
Last night I got all the ingredients out to start cooking dinner, and POOF! The power went out! I called my husband who quickly offered to bring home a pizza.
Husband who brings home dinner = HERO.
I went around the house lighting every candle I could find to brighten the place and the focus was no longer on the pet crates, the laundry, the extra furniture crammed in the dining room, or the missing curtains! Well, ok, look closely in the photo below and you’ll see there’s no curtain or rod on that den window. But the place had ambience and I told my house, “Hey, candlelight looks good on you!”
So, we chilled for the evening and enjoyed pizza by candlelight. I know that sounds romantic, but the kids were still there, lol!
Somewhere between school and soccer today, I’ll give my house the blitz! The curtain rods will have to wait, but that’s ok. Life will go on and so will the weekend! I think I’ll pick up some more candles.
