Good morning, friends! Wow, it’s been a while, hasn’t it! We’ve had a high school graduation, a big trip out west, a family wedding, our Texas daughter and SIL visiting, several gatherings to host, and another surgery for my younger daughter. I’m so eager to get back to blogging and I have a zillion ideas for posts, yet when I sat down earlier this week to click away on the keyboard, I suddenly felt stuck. I think it’s because I have so much to catch up on. So, I’m just going to start slow and simple today with a little inspo for your nest fluffing.
We’ve hosted several gatherings lately and it’s been so nice to have flowers in bloom for clipping and adding to little vases around the house. I don’t have many flower beds these days like I used to, no thanks to the dogs. Booo. Oh, how I miss all my flowers and being able to clip clip clip all I want! But I am thankful to have at least one bed out front that is pretty and thriving with Wedding White Hydrangeas and lavender. I always plant lavendar by the front door so my guests catch a lovely whiff as they enter.
You want to know a secret? I used to hate ferns! But now I love them and always have them in my planters during summer. And I found several years ago that they make pretty fillers in flower arrangements!
So, let’s go back inside for those flower arrangements!
I have a little collection of mismatched vases from places like Walmart, Dollar Tree, and Five Below so I’ve been filling them with dainty blooms and scattering them around the house in kitchen, foyer, dining room, guest bath, etc.
For my kitchen and dining room tables, I placed them on wooden trays and added these cute summer lanterns from Five Below for a simple, no fuss vignette. When I don’t have flowers in bloom, I pick up flowers from the grocery store. Either way, I love having them around to brighten up the rooms in my home.
I might not have to worry about the dogs with these flowers, but Mr. Floyd’s flower radar always activates when the flowers come inside!
I hope you’re all having the best summer! I can’t wait to share about all that’s been going on here. We finished our 15th year of homeschooling in May, and my daughter is now registered for college for this fall! I’m down to one little homeschool student now—where is the time going, y’all?!

My homeschooled son turns 24 in a few weeks. God bless you for homeschooling…I’m sure you agree…best decision!!!! YAY! Love the fern idea for arrangements. I cut my hydrangeas and bring them in. Don’t have a fern but may get one now:)

Thank you, Sue! And yes, we have loved homeschooling through the years! So many wonderful memories made with our children. ❤️ I like using the fern fronds because they add some filler and height to an arrangement, they stay fresh in water a really long time, and they’re an inexpensive addition!
