Happy Friday! I’ve yet to display pumpkins at my front entrance because it’s been so warm here and my past attempts at putting them out too early always resulted in them rotting before we made it to Thanksgiving. However, after my 52-degree walk this morning, I’d say we’re turning a corner with the weather! Woohoo!
My daughter and I took a trip to Texas this week to visit my married daughter (I’ll have a post about that next week) and while enjoying some fun outings I noticed a lot of beautiful pumpkin displays that inspired some good ideas for my own home.
Above are some pretty arrangements at the Fables bookstore and below are several more we saw at Magnolia. Something that really caught my attention is the trend to incorporate pumpkins into preexisting flowerpots and beds.
I love this look! Some flowers, some tall grasses, some herbs, and pumpkins tucked here and there.
I love this idea because some of my summer flowers and herbs are still going strong. I’ll just add some pumpkins along with a few pansies and small mums. I don’t have a good track record with mums, so I think I can just add some small ones into the bed arrangements instead of investing in big ones while still achieving the same overall vibe.
I really like the piles and piles of pumpkins that are so popular but, boy, that really adds up, so I doubt I’ll go as big as Chip and Joanna, ha! But isn’t the truck and pumpkin display so cute!
We had SO much fun visiting my daughter in Texas, and I can’t wait to share some more photos from our trip next week. Until then I’ll work on my pumpkins and flower beds in this lovely fall weather!
