The Ways of Her Home

Embracing the homeward call

February on Fast Forward

March 1, 2025

February went by so quickly! Here’s a look at our February on fast forward. It’s kinda choppy.

I’m actually going to start with how we ended January. We took our son and two of his friends out for his birthday. Mellow Mushroom for pizza followed by California Yogurt Craze for dessert. I can’t believe he turned 14!

On another evening when my son was at a youth event, Joel and I took our daughter out for sushi.

My girl was back in the saddle this month.

And these guys spent some Saturdays at the court.

I haven’t posted about this yet, but we had a pool put in our bank yard after Christmas! There was still a lot of fence work and sod to be put down which drug out through February.

And the garden area got extended. I’ll share some more details soon. I can’t wait to start planting for spring!

We’ve been playing a new game called Splendor that my daughter and son-in-law gave Joel for Christmas. We’re hooked!

Below is a diorama my son made for science while studying hydrothermal vents and the sea life that they attract. I keep thinking he’s going to feel too old for projects like this, but he still loves doing them and I’m so glad.

A drive thru date with my son at a new restaurant he’d been so anxious to try– Slim Chickens! Do you have one? He got the chicken fingers (of course) and I got a salad (of course) and we both enjoyed our meals.

We went to a teen conference in Gatlinburg with our church’s youth group and it was such a great weekend with great speakers and meaningful worship. The singing was so full and beautiful. Several of our teens gave their lives to Christ and asked to be baptized!

We were there on Valentine’s Day and went out for pancakes at The Pancake Pantry because when in Gatlinburg. Nothing says Valentine’s better than chocolate and strawberries. This was sooo good!

We had a time to walk around and shop, so we went to Paula Deen’s store which was lovely.

Here’s my girl looking all cute in her winter hat. It was cold and rainy that weekend.

Also in February, this baby girl below turned 25 this month! Look at those sweet li’l cheeks. And now she’s preparing to have her own baby later this spring. We can’t wait!

Liberty got a haircut.

I’ve been teaching the 4-year-old class at church on Wednesday nights, and these are just a few of my little cuties.

The hubs and I hosted a table at a benefit dinner for our adoption agency.

My son and his friend had their first soccer games of the season. They were both starters playing side by side in the very first game which was special for them. They’ve won all their games so far!

Living their best life. That first game was in the 20s and we just about froze to death.

And lastly, my husband and I got in a nice date night with some delicious food. I’m always grateful for time with him.

February was a month full of blessings but also included the very sad loss of a dear friend who is deserving of a separate post just for her. Until then, I pray you all have very a blessed month of March.

I sure do! And as you can see, photo quality was not what it is today and I only have pics that were printed (no digital files), so they are very cherished.

It looks like you had an incredible February. Wow, it doesn’t seem possible that your oldest is 25 already.

That seems like yesterday and also a million years ago! Time is funny. That why I like to record some memories here every now and then— both big and small. 🥰
