We had a fun fall weekend with a trip to the pumpkin patch Saturday afternoon! It had been very gloomy and overcast all morning at my son’s soccer game, so we were thrilled to see the sun and the blue skies show up for a while that afternoon. It turned out to be a gorgeous day.
This farm is a few miles down the road from us and has been such a blessing to our growing community.
We’ve pretty much got the corn maze memorized after going there so many years but it’s still fun. We walked behind a young family with a toddler who was so cute to watch.
This farm also has a sunflower maze which is just beautiful!
Look at the color! Blue skies and bright yellow sunflowers.
Busy little bees! I love seeing nature at work.
Some of the activities and games have become tradition for our kids no matter how old they get and that makes me happy.
There are also plenty of snack and beverage stands.
We enjoyed some delicious barbeque that is smoked on site.
This condiment cow was just too cute. My husband said it felt a little awkward though, haha.
We rode a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to select our pumpkins. They don’t actually grow them there but it’s still fun to walk through them all in search for the perfect pumpkin.
The rest of the weekend was pretty restful and lowkey. I tried another pumpkin recipe Sunday morning before church. This Pumpkin Spice French Toast from Frugal Farm Wife was so good with slices of a sourdough loaf I had in the freezer.
After a morning of worship, we came home for some roast chicken, brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Oh, and of course, more sourdough bread, ha!
This was my husband’s plate. I had to take a picture of his because, as you can see, he was particularly excited about the mashed potatoes and gravy.
We napped for the afternoon and then finished the day with some television and snacks for dinner. This is a sweet and salty fall snack mix we’ve been munching. Candy corn, peanuts, broken pretzels, Reese’s pieces, peanut butter chips, and butterscotch chips.
I’m going to leave you with a pic I took of our time at the soccer field Saturday morning. It’s not a picture of the actual soccer game but of the kids lining up after the game to say their memory verses to their coach. We love our little soccer program for the athletics it teaches the kids, but more importantly for the Biblical character it works to instill in their hearts.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you’re having the best fall season!
