Good morning, friends! Well, I’ve promised wedding posts and this is the week. Over the last week, I’ve had a little time to rest and dig out of the post-wedding piles so this week I can blog–yay! I’m going to start with all the fun showers and celebrations that were thrown for my daughter and her now husband.
Taco ‘Bout Engaged!
My brother and sister-in-law, along with their son (my nephew) and his girlfriend, and my SIL’s mother hosted an engagement party for my daughter and her fiancé plus another nephew and his fiancé! The theme was a Mexican Fiesta and it was so much fun! They served a full Mexican spread of nachos, tacos, salad, and dessert. The flower arrangements were bright and festive and they handed out the cutest little succulent plants for party favors. My nephew’s girlfriend set up a fun Mexican photo booth which was a hit for ALL ages. My sisters and I laughed so much posing with each other!

Family and Friends Bridal Shower
In April, two of my sisters-in-law and niece hosted a very lovely shower for the bride with a houseful of friends and family and a pretty table full of delicious shower goodies and treats! They put a LOT of work into the day with all the special details, and we appreciate it so much. We enjoyed seeing many friends we don’t get to see any more on a regular basis but who we still hold near and dear in our hearts. And the couple received so many wonderful gifts which will be a huge blessing as they set up their home!

Small Group Mother Daughter Dinner
We’ve been in the same small group for over 10 years! Our kids have literally grown up together and we’ve celebrated all their milestones together, sometimes as a whole group including all the boys and men, and sometimes just the mothers and daughters. In May we enjoyed a sweet evening with just the mothers and daughters and a wonderful meal of salads, cake, and petit fores. These ladies all prayed blessings of scripture over the bride and showered her with gifts for her new home. My friend Rivers hosted in her home and her little girls (who were 2 of my daughter’s flower girls) not only helped their mama host but made the cutest wedding-themed bookmarks for the bride!

Church Shower
A week before the wedding our church ladies hosted a beautiful shower, and we were so humbled by the many women who helped host and who attended, and by the very generous gifts and gift cards! I wasn’t able to snap any photos until the end and still didn’t get many, but they served our favorite shower refreshments including a chilled punch, fruit, petit fores, and cheese straws which are a must at all southern showers! The flowers were arranged by a very talented church member, and we were given all the gorgeous arrangements to take home and enjoy for the week.

Bridesmaids and Flower Girl Luncheon
Two days before the wedding my mom, sister, and I hosted a luncheon to honor the bride along with her bridesmaids and flower girls. I made arrangements with our favorite tearoom–one I’ve taken my girls to for years–and the owner was wonderful to suggest menu ideas and tea blends perfect for the occasion. Our “Tea and Tasties” luncheon began with quiche and salad and then moved on to scones, finger sandwiches, and assorted desserts, along with several delightful teas! My mom and sister took care of our party favors and gifted each attendee a gorgeous floral teacup, wrapped with cellophane and ribbon wand topped with a tag that read “Love is brewing!” and the date. The 3 flower girls, who loved every minute of being at a fancy tea party, were so excited to pick out their very own teacup to take home. So sweet!

Rehearsal Dinner!
The night before the wedding, after the rehearsal, the groom’s family hosted a fun Texas-style dinner, complete with a full BBQ spread and sides, and Texas Ranger cookies made by the groom’s sister! Since the couple will be residing in the Lone Star state, the room was decked out with red and blue stars, boots, and brightly colored flowers! We enjoyed the delicious meal and getting to know some of the groom’s family and friends who traveled for the wedding.
