Good morning, friends! How's your nest-fluffing lately? Mine has needed some deeper fluffing this week so I've been bust working on windows and baseboards with my Norwex cloths. I LOVE these cloths! They make my cleaning way easier and everything I use them on just feels cleaner and fresher. I call it "happy cleaning"! I also love the mop, dusting mitt, vegetable cloth, makeup cloth, and the cleaning paste. And for Father's Day I gifted my husband the car wash cloths which he said work better than anything else he's ever used! I'm hosting a Norwex party Monday night for any local friends who would like to attend, and my friend Crystal will be giving a demo. These are so much fun! If ... Read more
Fluff the Nest Friday: Brighten Your Home with Fresh Flowers!
Good morning, friends! Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it! We've had a high school graduation, a big trip out west, a family wedding, our Texas daughter and SIL visiting, several gatherings to host, and another surgery for my younger daughter. I'm so eager to get back to blogging and I have a zillion ideas for posts, yet when I sat down earlier this week to click away on the keyboard, I suddenly felt stuck. I think it's because I have so much to catch up on. So, I'm just going to start slow and simple today with a little inspo for your nest fluffing. We've hosted several gatherings lately and it's been so nice to have flowers in bloom for clipping and adding to little vases around the ... Read more
Fluff the Nest Friday: A Front Porch Ready for Company!
HAPPY FRIYAY, friends! (Are we still saying "Friyay" or is that out? I'll ask my girls.) Anywho, I'm taking our fluff post outside today to show you a couple of ways I've cleaned up my front porch. Late winter is when my porch really starts to look dingy and in need of some freshening up. It's tricky because it's not quite time to deck it all out with spring flowers and bunnies, but I need something to hold me over until then. I hosted a bridal shower at my house last Sunday for my nephew's fiancé (more to come soon!) and wanted the entrance to look a little more presentable. I couldn't do everything on my wish list, so I chose a few things that were the most manageable and affordable ... Read more
Fluff the Nest Friday: The Evening Report
Hello, again! I don't know that I've ever posted twice in one day but if you saw my morning post, then you know I promised a follow-up post this evening! If you didn't catch my morning post, we got new carpet this week which caused a huge upheaval all around the house and we set out to finish or at least make some big progress in putting things back in order after school today. So, here's how we did today, and I'm going to give the "after " pics first and then the "before" pics. We got the den back in order and even put out a few new purchases I made at TJ Maxx this week: a few fresh throw pillows, a basket, and a new blanket. Since the Christmas decorations are packed away, I've got ... Read more
Fluff the Nest Friday: It’s Gonna Take More Than a Fluff!
Happy Friday, friends!! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted on the blog, and it’s been even longer since I’ve posted a FTNF! If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that Friday is the day the kids and I finish up our school week and then get the house cleaned and fresh for the weekend….the day we “fluff the nest”. But today this house is going to require much more than a fluff because we got new carpet this week in each of the bedrooms! I’m soooo happy with the new carpet, however it’s created quite the upheaval since EVERYTHING had to come out of FOUR bedrooms, closets included. When we first started prepping the rooms for the carpet installers my fairytale plan was to do it ... Read more
Fluff the Nest Friday: Norwex Produce Products
Happy Friday, y'all! Today's Friday fluff post isn't so much about cleaning house but is related to housekeeping by way of food prep. I'd like to introduce you to two more Norwex products I've been using since the spring: the Veggie & Fruit Scrub Mitt and the Fresh Produce Wash. Neither of these products were on my wish list and I always passed them by when scrolling through Norwex's website. But after purchasing my Norwex mop I qualified for both items at $5 each! Let me tell you that I am the pillar of strength when it comes to add-on specials (the photo stores hated me when I would take my little girls for the $9.95 package, and they were assuming they'd talked me into an ... Fluff the Nest Friday: The Great Summer Cleanout and the One Year Rule.
Happy Friday, friends! The kids and I have been chipping away at our summer cleanout list and we follow one simple rule. A year after my husband and I were married, I cleaned out our whole house--all 1292 square feet of it--and was shocked at how much we'd accumulated in that little house in just a year's time. I then made up the "One Year Rule" which I still follow. If we haven't used it or worn it in the last year, it has to go! Of course, there are a few exceptions to this rule like my wedding dress, the children's keepsakes, special china and dishes, etc. But I'm talking about the stuff that is supposed to be the everyday stuff that just isn't getting used like the kitchen gadget we ... Fluff the Nest Friday: “Clean” Cleaning Products
Happy Friday! Are you fluffing your nest today too? We're getting ready for company this weekend so there will definitely be some fluffing going on here! Last week I shared about my Norwex cleaning cloths which I use on the daily with no spray or cleaning solution at all. They are amazing! But there are times in my cleaning when I need to use a spray with a paper towel or regular cleaning rag. Unfortunately, I can't tolerate most cleaning sprays on the market due to their strong smells. For years I was getting bad headaches very easily and one of the main culprits was my cleaning and laundry products because of the chemicals and fumes. For a while I just accepted it as part of the job. ... Read more
