The Ways of Her Home

Embracing the homeward call

About Me

311c44db-5eac-4bbf-ab9e-90877e804c7d

Hello! I’m Alinda, the hands behind the blog. I’m a Christian wife, homeschooling mama, and serious homebody! I’m passionate about all things HOME- the projects, the people, the warmth, the coffee, the dinner on the stove- and I happily embrace the call to look well to the ways of my home. (Proverbs 31:27)

The homeward call is not limited merely to our earthly dwelling but ultimately to our Father’s house in heaven (John 14:2). While the home I make here on earth cannot begin to compare with what God is preparing for us, I do strive to create a warm retreat which directs our hearts to the Lord and our future home with Him.

I’ve been married to my hero for 28 years, and we’ve been blessed with some pretty awesome kids. Our oldest daughter is married, our younger daughter is in college, and our son is in middle school. My husband works at an office in a nearby city and I’m at home in our 17th year of homeschooling. Homeschooling has been a wonderful (and challenging!) journey for our family, and I share posts from time to time on that adventure.

Our home is not at all perfect, rather a continual work in progress. That work has become my delight and I’m excited to document some areas of it here. I’ve learned from the Bible (Proverbs 14:1) and from life experiences that a woman can build up or tear down her house with her very own hands. I’ve done both, but with the help of my Savior (Philippians 4:13), I’m working on the building up! I hope to encourage you in your own homemaking as well. Let’s do this together!
