Hello! I hosted a Norwex party at my house Monday night and my ladies and I had a great time together learning about the cleaning products, visiting with each other, and eating! I’ve had several ladies ask for the recipes, so I thought I’d share those today. I served a tomato pesto tart, grilled herb chicken, and Italian salad.
I’ve shared this tomato tart recipe before but it’s definitely worth reposting. My daughter and I love this tart! She was so excited when I told her I was making it and she doesn’t even like tomatoes! And I’ve found that most people who don’t like tomatoes end up liking this tart once they’ve tried it. I like to serve the tart when I’m hosting women for a luncheon or dinner because it just goes so well with “lady food”. You can check another menu with this tomato tart in my post “Summer Supper Menu for the Ladies” to see how I served it for a Noonday party I hosted a few years ago.

Tomato Pesto Tart
Ingredients
- 1/2 (15 oz) Refrigerated piecrust
- 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 5 plum tomatoes, sliced
- 1/4 cup Parmesan
- 2 tbsp Basil pesto
- 1/2 tsp Freshly ground pepper
- 3 tbsp Chopped fresh basil
Instructions
- Lay sliced tomatoes on paper towels to soak up extra liquid so they won’t be watery when the tart comes out of the oven.
- Unfold piecrust on a lightly greased baking sheet. Roll into a 12-inch circle. Brush outer 1 inch of crust with water. Fold edges and crimp. Prick bottom of crust.
- Bake @ 425 degrees for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella; let cool 15 minutes. Arrange tomato slices over mozzarella.
- Stir together remaining 1 cup mozzarella, mayonnaise, and next 3 ingredients. Spread over tomato slices.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven; sprinkle with basil.
There’s really no recipe for the salad, just ingredients. Chopped Romaine and Iceberg lettuces, olives, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, thinly sliced purple onion, croutons, and Italian dressing. We like this Olive Garden knock-off that Aldi carries. It’s just as good as the real thing but much cheaper. I also use it as a marinade meat for grilling. Delicious!
Dessert was kept simple for mingling and nibbling after the demo. My daughter made brownies and fruit dip for strawberries. My sweet friend, Marian, texted me the day before the party and asked how she could help, offering a number of options. When she mentioned baking her mini chocolate chip pumpkin muffins I said, “Yes, please!” And she left the leftovers for my kiddos. So tasty and my kids have enjoyed them this week for breakfast and snacks. Thanks, Marian!
I didn’t give the recipe for the chicken, but I’ll cover that in another post soon. I also haven’t talked about the Norwex demo! Y’all, if you haven’t seen one, they are really neat! My consultant Crystal does such a good job explaining the products. I’ve blogged a few times in the last year about my favorite Norwex products and I have tried a few more recently that I’m already loving. I’ll be posting about those in my “Fluff the Nest” posts, but for now I’ll give you a little sneak peek at the cutting board Crystal brought me as a gift. This was on my wish list. It’s made of corn husks, has a gripper on the bottom, and knives don’t scratch it! I’ve always used a small size cutting board several times a day for cutting fruit, slicing cheese, etc.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you’ll try the tomato pesto tart next time you have your ladies over!
